Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Sequels, Thrillers, Distribution, Upcoming Releases
We just got our first look at the movie poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 -- and, it’s totally awesome. The poster delivers a clear message to moviegoers: the eighth, and final, film installment will feature an epic battle between The Boy Who Lived and He Who Shall Not Be Named.
Frightened yet?
In the poster, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is smeared with blood, and Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) looks just plain mean. The film comes to theaters on July 15, so keep your wands at the ready.

VIDEO: Captain Jack Sparrow Delivers Message to Comic-Con
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Disney, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Comedy, Upcoming Releases, Videos
The film may not open until next year, but it’s never too early to start drinking rum.
In this clip that debuted at Comic-Con 2010, Captain Jack Sparrow (a.k.a. Johnny Depp) gives audiences a hint - or does he? - about what we should expect from during the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean installment.
“You may have also heard whisperings and rumors that Jack Sparrow will be recruiting a crew to undertake a voyage to the Fountain of Youth. Not true, course not. But even if it weren’t not true, you wouldn’t be interested in joining me - would you? Eh? No, thought not. I do admit that there’d be varied and substantial dangers along the way including, but not limited, to zombies, cutthroats, mermaids, and the vicious and vivacious Penelope Cruz - which is why I’m not going. Impossible to find the place anyway. No one knows where it is. Plus, I’d have to have a bloody map…or a Bloody Mary…or both.”

Whether it is the amazing teaser trailer, the fact that Spielberg is attached, or simply Shia LaBeouf, Eagle Eye has caught the attention of all sorts of film fans.
Adding more of a peek into Michelle Monaghan‘s character, the trailer has gotten me even more pumped about the upcoming film. Director D.J. Caruso and LaBeouf did it once with Disturbia—who says that they can’t do it again this September?
Rosario Dawson, Michael Chiklis, and Billy Bob Thornton also star in the film.

Frank Miller Addresses Concerns of The Spirit
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Lionsgate, Action, Adaptation, Drama, Mystery, Noir, Filmmaking, Rumors, Trailers, Upcoming Releases
In a recent blog post, graphic novelist/director Frank Miller addressed complaints and concerns aroused by fans upon the circulation of the teaser trailer for The Spirit, which can be seen after the jump.
In Will Eisner’s comics, the Spirit’s suit and hat are printed blue. In the posters, ads, and trailer, he is seen wearing black. Miller explained that due to printing issues, the Spirit’s clothes appear blue when meant to be black (take Superman’s hair, for instance).
Similarly, the black attire and red hints a tad reminiscent of Miller’s own Sin City, but he assures readers that the teaser trailer is just that—a tease. “To drive the point home, The Spirit, despite any accidental impression left by that kickass teaser-trailer, is a full-color movie. Sin City is, visually, a playhouse for black and white,” he clarifies.

Warner Bros. Releases Dark Knight Trailer No. 3
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Mystery, Sequels, Thrillers, Trailers, Upcoming Releases
As everyone and their mother rushed to the theaters to see Iron Man this weekend, they were in for quite a surprise as the latest teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Batman series played prior to the film.
Ever since the first screenings of Iron Man, bootleg versions of the trailer have appeared on YouTube; The Dark Knight team seems to have wanted to nip that in the butt quickly, as they ended up posting it on their official site this past weekend, which you can see after the jump.
Although the campaign for the film has bombarded us with clips and images of Heath Ledger‘s character, Joker, very little has been spoken of Aaron Eckhart‘s Harvey Dent, who ultimately becomes Two-Face. That is, of course, until this trailer, where if you look close enough, you’re able to see the scars on the side of his face when he’s holding up the gun.
Folks over at Warner Bros. just continue to keep us entertained, as they had just released new teaser posters a mere couple weeks ago (which can be viewed at Omelete). The film is set to be released in theaters July 18, 2008.

The Latest Incredible Hulk Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Universal, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Science Fiction, Trailers, Upcoming Releases
While I think this trailer for The Incredible Hulk is definitely an improvement over the earlier version, I still don’t think there’s anything they could do to make that green guy look less cheesy.
And am I the only one who thinks they they should have kept that other ugly thing under wraps?
Edward Norton‘s version of The Incredible Hulk storms into theaters on June 13.
New Sex and the City Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: New Line, Drama, Romance, Comedy, Trailers, Upcoming Releases
Finally - a more substantive glance at the upcoming Sex and the City Movie!
While I will undoubtedly watch the release, I must say the newest trailer gives the film a much darker tone than I would have liked to see. (You can view it for yourself, after the jump.) Is it because the show is best served on the small screen? Should the series only be viewed in 30-minute snippets? Is the teaser simply a bad representation? (Oh, I hope so.)
Regardless, the clip does give us a few juicy tidbits:
- Apparently Mr. Big’s (full) name is John James Preston. (I think I like him better when he’s not an actual person.)
- It looks like Steve may have cheated on Miranda. (The Steve I know would never do something like that.)
- Commitment-phobe Samantha may be wandering from Smith Jerrod.
- Charlotte is indeed pregant. (She adopted that kid for nothing.)
- And last but not least, Carrie’s planned wedding to Big falls apart?
Be looking for SATC to hit theaters this May 30.

The Mysterious Trailer Preceding ‘Transformers’
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Paramount, Science Fiction, Thrillers, Trailers, Upcoming Releases
For the millions of you who stepped out to see Transformers this past week—you probably walked away with one plaguing question: What was the name of the movie for that trailer I saw?
Despite having seen the production logos, for a moment I wasn’t entirely sure I was watching a film teaser. It almost seemed like a cheap commercial. There were shots from a hand-held camera at some type of going-away party….flashes of lights in the sky….then building pieces (including the Statue of Liberty’s head) hurtling around. Then nothing. About the only thing indicating that it was a movie was a mention of the release date. Then when I saw J.J. Abrams’ name—it all seemed quite fitting.
