Mark Ruffalo’s Superhero Costume Problems

Mark Ruffalo felt like an "a******" wearing a leotard while shooting The Avengers.
The Kids Are All Right actor plays Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the forthcoming Marvel movie, and while he didn't mind losing weight for the role he was embarrassed wearing a small body suit.
"I did a cleanse that was like hell. I lost 21 pounds and I've kept about 15 off. I quite like it - it's good to be a little trimmer. I felt like such an a****** wearing The Hulk's little leotard though. When they were designing it, I was like, 'How about adding a codpiece?', 'Some ass pads?' It's not very flattering."
However, he is excited he is now playing the opposite to his usual nice guy roles: "They say you always play the opposite of yourself the best, so I must be b*****d! I'm interested in the people you might write off immediately, but can then be surprised by. I get that a lot about myself."

Joss Whedon was concerned that The Avengers might turn into a "sausagefest."
The 47-year-old director cast Scarlett Johansson in the superhero movie - which sees her reprise her role of Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow from Iron Man 2 - to avoid the film being dominated by its male stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo.

Joss Whedon: The Avengers Will be Exhausting to Watch
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Buena Vista, Disney, Action, Adaptation, Science Fiction, Sequels, Thrillers, Celeb News, Filmmaking, Upcoming Releases
Joss Whedon thinks The Avengers fans should feel "exhausted" when they watch the movie.
The 47-year-old director compared the superhero film to his latest horror-comedy motion picture Cabin in the Woods, and joked he will be glad when he no longer has to film the movie.
"I want them to feel exhausted and fulfilled. Not unlike Cabin, it's a ride, and we put the screws to them. We really put the characters through it, and we want the audience to be with them every step of the way and come out of it going, 'That was an extraordinary experience, and now I want to pay to see it again.' The most satisfying thing about The Avengers is that soon I will finish it."
Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L. Jackson all star in the movie, which tells the story of Nick Fury (Samuel) and a special team who form a group of super humans called The Avengers to do battle with Loki (Tom) in a bid to save Earth.

The Avengers to Be in 3-D

The Avengers will be released in 3-D. The Marvel movie - starring a huge cast including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth - is now to be released in the special format alongside a 2-D version.
In the same release, Disney also confirmed another as-yet-untitled film has been moved from a release date of June 2014 to April 2014, with many speculating it may be the follow-up to Captain America: The First Avenger.
Joss Whedon has directed The Avengers, and Disney's distribution chief Dave Hollis has predicted it will be huge upon its release in 2012: "I don't know who doesn't know about The Avengers at this point. It will be an absolute phenomenon."
Jeremy Renner - who stars as Hawkeye in the movie - previously joked he had no idea how the final movie would look after it had been edited: "Someone's in the air, flying around. I'm on the ground, shooting a bow and arrow. There are a lot of things happening. I have no idea what that movie looks like. Zero idea. Most of the time, I have a good idea of how it's going to turn out because I've seen so much of it, but I have no idea. I feel like I might be an extra in it. I'm not sure."
Tom Hiddleston’s Avengers Hug

Tom Hiddleston felt like he was having a "group hug" on the set of The Avengers.
The British actor portrays his Thor' character Loki in the forthcoming Marvel comic book movie, and while the film's big cast - including Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth - was slightly intimidating at first, he admits the group got along famously quickly.
"For the first 10 minutes after you meet them, they have the wattage and charisma of movie stars. Then you have a coffee with them and you realize we're all the same, we're all just people. All of the actors in The Avengers are so nice. Marvel has these code names for projects and the code name for The Avengers was Group Hug. It felt very much like a group hug on set."
Tom - who is the villain of the film - admits his favorite part of the movie was getting to do his own stunts: "My favorite moment on set was filming at a NASA location the size of a cathedral. I flew around like a trapeze artist in a rocket-testing facility in the company of Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Renner. That was a pretty good day at work."

Comic-Con News: Mark Ruffalo is The Hulk
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Paramount, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Casting, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Upcoming Releases

Robert Downey, Jr., also known as Iron Man, gave news-hungry Comic-Con fans exactly what they wanted during his appearance at the convention: he announced the next Hulk.
Mark Ruffalo, primarily known for roles in the romantic comedy and dramatic film genres, will officially step into The Hulk’s sizable shoes to take on the role of self-effacing scientist Bruce Banner, the green hero’s alter ego. (Edward Norton, who played the green superhero in the 2008 film, was dropped from the upcoming Avengers movie project, leaving a huge casting hole in the Marvel movie franchise.)
Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) has been confirmed for the role of Hawkeye.
The Avengers is scheduled for release in 2012. Comic book fans won’t have to wait that long to see more live-action heroes, however: Captain America and Thor are both getting their own movies, which will release in the summer of 2011.
