First Look: KStew and Dakota Rock Out in The Runaways


We’ve seen Kristen Stewart get into character as Joan Jett for the biopic The Runaways—now we actually get to see her flex those vocal chords in the teaser trailer for the film.

The atypical coming-of-age story focuses on Joan Jett’s relationship with band mate Cherie Currie, played by Stewart’s New Moon co-star . While there is no release date as of yet, the movie is expected to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

And you thought Robert Pattinson’s hair was shaggy.

For her next film, Twilight‘s Kristen Stewart will be steering away from vampire fantasy for a little rock ‘n roll reality. In , the 19-year-old will channel Joan Jett, a former member of the ‘70s band of the same name. Stewart’s New Moon co-star, Dakota Fanning, will join her as Cherie Currie, the female group’s lead singer.

No release date has yet been announced for the biopic.

Cate Blanchett: The Benjamin Button actress will be paired with a new leading man for her next feature. Blanchett was recently tapped to replace Sienna Miller in the latest version of the Robin Hood tale. Cate will star as Maid Marian opposite Russell Crowe’s Robin of Loxley. The movie, previously titled Nottingham, will be helmed by by Crowe’s favorite director, Ridley Scott.
