Unless you managed to seal yourself in a cave the past few weeks, you know the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie twins have been born. This Hollywood power couple has never let grass grow under their feet - so what’s next for the industrious pair? Not much has been confirmed, but one thing is certain - these two just aren’t going to stop making headlines.
In case you haven’t heard the news, The Dark Knight is making money hand over fist (domestically, the film has already made well over an astronomical $300 million). It’s only natural that talk of a new Batman installment is already circulating.
None of those associated with the current Batman movies have said much about the possible flick, but one star from the past has stepped forward to put in her two cents. Julie Newmar, the iconic Catwoman who played opposite Adam West’s Batman, has nominated Angelina Jolie for her former role. “Angelina would own the part,” Newmar stated to the New York Daily News.

Kevin Smith Talks Porno

UPDATE: Smith has since successfully appealed the MPAA for an R-rating.
Kevin Smith shot his first movie, Clerks, in the same convenience store where he worked. Later that year, this low-budget film (it cost less than $30,000 in its entirety) made a big splash at the Sundance Film Festival. The world of View Askew has now grown much larger and the family much bigger, but now Smith is taking a bold step outside his own comfortable box of satirical comedy and pithy dialogue.
Believe it or not, the writer/director/actor has made a dirty film. The flick, Zack and Miri Make a Porno stars up-and-coming comedy star Seth Rogen along with former porn queen Traci Lords. Elizabeth Banks and Justin Long round out the cast. After three tries, the film has been unable to shake the NC-17 rating stated by the Motion Picture Association of America.

Whether it is the amazing teaser trailer, the fact that Spielberg is attached, or simply Shia LaBeouf, Eagle Eye has caught the attention of all sorts of film fans.
Adding more of a peek into Michelle Monaghan’s character, the trailer has gotten me even more pumped about the upcoming film. Director D.J. Caruso and LaBeouf did it once with Disturbia—who says that they can’t do it again this September?
Rosario Dawson, Michael Chiklis, and Billy Bob Thornton also star in the film.

Fahrenheit 9/11 Sequel Planned

Michael Moore - never one to shy away from controversy - is back at it again. The writer/producer/director has chosen to follow up last year’s Sicko with a sequel to his 2004 hit, Fahrenheit 9/11.
While this movie will chronologically pick up where the original left off, it will not be about one specific event. It will instead have a much broader focus. According to the chief for Paramount Vantage (one of the two companies Moore is partnering with), the film “is going to tackle what’s going on in the world, and America’s place in it.”
Those already worried about the timing of Oliver Stone’s upcoming Bush project should feel at ease with this new documentary. Moore is not planning to release the film until sometime next year - long after the presidential election is over.

As we have reported, director Oliver Stone is currently filming his third piece about a U.S. Commander-in-Chief. This movie, though, will be his first about a living president, and his first about one still in office.
In this week’s edition of Entertainment Weekly, we get our first glimpses of W‘s George and Laura Bush: Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) and Elizabeth Banks (The 40-Year-Old Virgin).

Although Stone denies he is any way trying to influence the upcoming election, many believe the timing of the film’s release is quite suspect. (It could be released sometime this fall.) You can read more of the magazine’s interview here and judge for yourself.

Another Delay for Tom Cruise and Valkyrie

Right now, Tom Cruise is somewhere hoping the third time really is a charm.
After initially receiving a June 27 release date, the actor’s next film is now scheduled to open next year. That’s after Valkyrie had already been pushed back to the fall for production reasons.
Although an October premiere might have been given the film Oscar consideration, the studio claims the new Feb. 13th slot will be in the best interest of the WWII drama. That decision will allow Cruise to take advantage of the President’s Day weekend.
Two films once slated for that same 2009 date have since made other plans (The Pink Panther 2, The Wolfman). While these departures may have allowed Valkyrie to slip right in, that Friday will still have stiff competition. Confessions of a Shopaholic (starring Isla Fisher) and the latest version of Friday the 13th will also be fighting for audience dollars.
Directed by Bryan Singer, Valkyrie also stars Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh and Tom Wilkinson.

Joel McHale: From The Soup to Soderbergh

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Another host from E!’s The Soup would start to get the attention he/she deserved
Back in 1991, actor Greg Kinnear kicked off what was then known as Talk Soup. He is now probably better known for his Oscar-nominated work in As Good as It Gets. Since then, other hosts have moved on from that weekly program to varying degrees of success. (The most notable ones being Hal Sparks and Aisha Tyler.) Could current frontman Joel McHale soon be outgrowing the recap roundup as well?
It has just been announced that the 36-year-old comedian will be branching out from the clip show to work on a much larger project. Joel will soon be starring in The Informant, a new movie from director Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven). McHale is slated to play an FBI agent who will work alongside Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap) and Matt Damon.

It’s been a while since a trailer for a supposed horror movie has actually piqued my interest....let alone scared me. That is until now.
If The Strangers doesn’t end up being one of the creepiest movies in some time, the editing crew behind this teaser should win an award for Best Act of Deception.
The movie - starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman - hit theaters May 30th.
