Carla Bruni May Star in Woody Allen Film
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Casting, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors
Carla Bruni - who married French President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2007 - is rumored to have accepted an offer from director Woody Allen. The part would be in an as-yet-untitled movie he is planning to make next year.
Woody stated last year he would offer Carla “any role she liked” in one of his films.
“I would like to work with Carla Bruni. I’m sure she would be wonderful. She has charisma and she performs, so she’s not unknown to an audience, and I would cast her in many different ways,” Allen said. “She is an accomplished artist, she is very beautiful and I am sure she would have a gift for comedy. I can assure people it would cause no problems with President Sarkozy, or with the image of France.”
Carla, 41 - whose sister Valeria and mother Marysa are both experienced actresses - has only ever held a few small film roles in the past, most notably in Robert Altman’s 1994 satire Pret-a-Porter.
Woody’s latest, also untitled, project is currently filming in London and stars Slumdog Millionaire Freida Pinto, Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas and Naomi Watts.

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
Jennifer Garner: The former Alias star will be replacing mad fighting skills with carving skills in Butter. The political satire will feature Garner as a butter sculpture phenom in a Midwestern town. No director has officially been assigned to the project.

Woody Allen Snags Freida Pinto
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Casting, Upcoming Releases

Now that Slumdog Millionaire has been sanctified by the Golden Globes and the Oscars, it’s officially the best movie of last year. But really now, last year is already over. So which movie might be the best this year…or next?
Woody Allen’s doing all he can to secure talent for his upcoming flick - and he’s going for the best. Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto, who made a splash in her lacy blue gown at the Academy Awards, has signed on to the currently untitled Allen project. Pinto, in fact anything associated with 2008’s Best Picture, is the current toast of Hollywood and there is no doubt many more projects will soon come her way.
The actress will be joining Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins on the set. The film will be Pinto’s first since Slumdog Millionaire.
