Bond duo Neal Purvis and Robert Wade will be joined by a new scribe for the next 007 film.
Oscar-award winning screenwriter Peter Morgan will join the two franchise vets for the 23rd installment. In addition to work on both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, Purvis and Wade have also contributed to Die Another Day and The World is Not Enough.
Morgan’s previous credits include Best Picture nominees Frost/Nixon and The Queen. He also co-wrote 2006’s The Last King of Scotland.
No start date has been set for the film’s production, though a 2011 release is projected.

Is Freida Pinto the Next Bond Girl?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, MGM, Action, Sequels, Casting, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors
Hollywood definitely recognizes a hot gem when it sees one.
Although her Oscar-winning film is still charting in the Top Ten, Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto is already moving on to the next phase of her career. Just weeks ago, the former model was cast alongside Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins in an untitled Woody Allen project. Now she is being rumored for something with an even higher profile.
According to a British newspaper, the 24-year-old is now being considered for the next Bond film. A source for The Sun claims Pinto’s name was actually known to them prior to her recent success. “Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting Quantum of Solace. She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent. But she has blossomed into an incredibly stunning young woman and would look perfect on Daniel Craig’s arm,” the insider stated.
If the reports are true, it’s possible Freida could be reuniting with her Slumdog director for the 007 flick. The same paper also claims Danny Boyle has been asked to helm the latest installment.

Listen to Jack White and Alicia Keys’ New Bond Song
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, MGM, Action, Sequels
As we mentioned back in July, musicians Jack White and Alicia Keys have teamed up for the latest Bond song. “Another Way to Die” - written by the White Stripes singer - is the first 007 track performed as a duet.
Although it was once believed Amy Winehouse would be the next Bond performer, her personal troubles prevented that project from ever coming together.
The Quantum of Solace soundtrack will hit the shelves on October 28. The movie will then arrive in theaters on November 14.

Back in June, the Quantum of Solace producers gave us our first glimpse of the next 007 installment. Several months later, our interest is renewed.
This new clip moves past the original trailer’s dark and emotional tone and dives right into the series’ nuts and bolts: the bad guys and the Bond women.
Quantum of Solace - originally scheduled to open on November 7 - will now debut one week later (Nov. 14).
Quantum of Solace Gets a Date Shift

Who knew Harry Potter’s departure would have such repercussions?
When Entertainment Weekly produced last week’s Fall Movie Preview edition (the one with that bespectacled wizard on the front), I don’t think they anticipated having such outdated information. Unfortunately, Warner Bros.’ decision to move Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to July 2009 has set off a series of schedule changes.

Jack White and Alicia Keys Team Up for 007
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, MGM, Action, Adventure, Sequels, Celeb News, Upcoming Releases

What film accomplishment do Jack White, Alicia Keys, Madonna and Carly Simon all have in common? Their names have all been etched in 007 history.
For Quantum of Solace, the White Stripes musician will be pair with Keys to deliver their version of a Bond theme song. Jack Black White will produce and play drums on ‘Another Way to Die,’ a song he also wrote. Meanwhile, the Smokin’ Aces star will lend her vocals to the track.
This will be the first time two artists have worked jointly on a tune for one of the installments.
The soundtrack for Quantum of Solace will be available on Oct. 28, just over a week before the film’s release on November 7.

Quantum of Solace Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: MGM, Sony, Action, Adaptation, Drama, Sequels, Trailers, Upcoming Releases
Of all the sequels releasing in 2008, there are only two that really have me excited: The Dark Knight and Quantum of Solace.
In this new trailer, we see that Bond (Daniel Craig) is still quite raw after the death of Vesper Lynd. In fact, the movie (according to co-producer Michael Wilson) picks up “literally an hour” after where Casino Royale left off.
Quantum - also starring Judi Dench, Gemma Arterton, Mathieu Amalric and Olga Kurylenko - is scheduled to open on November 7th.
Bond Mobile Takes Accidental Plunge

Although we’ve grown accustomed to seeing James Bond do flashy things with his vehicle, I don’t think his iconic car was intended for this.
This past Saturday, an Aston Martin being used on Quantum of Solace took a dive into Lake Garda while en route to the set. Wet weather forced the vehicle - and its driver - to plunge into the waters in northern Italy.
Surprisingly, the person behind the wheel reportedly escaped with only minor injuries. I don’t think the same could be said for the car.

New ‘Bond’ Title Announced
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: MGM, Sony, Action, Sequels, Casting, Upcoming Releases
Up until now, the 22nd installment in the Bond franchise had simply been known as Bond 22. Now the latest Daniel Craig outing officially has a name: Quantum of Solace.
Solace, which is scheduled for a Nov. 7th release, will pick up where Casino Royale left off. British actress Gemma Arterton joins Craig on this latest mission as Agent Fields while Mathieu Amalric (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) will assume the role of the nemesis. Meanwhile, Olga Kurylenko has the honor of replacing Eva Green as the latest Bond girl.
Now’s your time to vote. Which 2008 sequel currently has the worst title: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull or Quantum of Solace?

Next Bond Girl and Villain Cast
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, MGM, Action, Sequels, Casting, Upcoming Releases
Production on the 22nd Bond film started yesterday with two relative newcomers (at least to American audiences) filling lead roles.
British actress Gemma Arterton will star as ‘Fields’, the latest woman to give James Bond a run for his money. No other details have been released about her role in this installment, which will pick up where Casino Royale ended. Based on her photo alone, I’m guessing James won’t be mourning Vesper Lynd for long.
Meanwhile, Mathieu Amalric, who can currently be seen as a paralyzed man in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, has been cast as Daniel Craig’s next nemesis. Fun Optical Fact: Amalric’s Diving character communicates with others by blinking with his left eye. Now he’s following up Royale’s Le Chiffre - the man who was known for weeping blood from his eyes. (Yes, I know that was random. Sue me.)
The next installment, directed by Marc Forster (The Kite Runner), is scheduled for release on November 7th.
