Bret Easton Ellis has retracted his love for troubled actress Lindsay Lohan.
The writer recently opened up about the critical and box office failure of The Canyons, a 2012 film he wrote which starred Lohan and famed porn actor James Deen. "I think where we went wrong was with the casting of Lindsay Lohan. Now I don’t mean she wasn’t good in it, she was very good in the movie. I mean that suddenly The Canyons has become the Lindsay Lohan film," he explained.

Lindsay Lohan is a "troubled human," according to Scary Movie 5 writer-producer David Zucker. The 26-year-old star has the potential to be a "really good" actress if she puts her wild antics behind after completing her upcoming 90-day stint in rehab as part of her plea deal on charges of lying to police about driving during a car crash in June 2012.
Speaking at the Hollywood premiere of the new horror/comedy sequel at the ArcLight Cimenas Cinerama Dome, David told the New York Daily News, "She's a troubled human and she was late a lot to the set, but she knew her lines and she's a good actress. This seems to be the business for all these addictions and craziness. Anybody has the potential to come back and straighten out."
Lindsay arrived fashionably late to the premiere, sauntering into the cinema 30 minutes after her co-stars and muttering, "Jesus!" when she saw how many photographers were waiting to catch a glimpse of her. One of her entourage insisted, "She's really happy to be here."
Lindsay Lohan was like a "child lashing out" during filming for The Canyons.
The troubled star plays Tara in the upcoming erotic thriller and her 26-year-old co-star James Deen - who has filmed more than 4,000 porn movies - was taken aback at Lindsay's erratic behavior on the set of his first mainstream flick.
"There were days when she would scream and yell and cry and refuse to come out. In porn I am used to working with professionals who are courteous to others. But Lindsay was like a child lashing out," he revealed.
It was recently revealed that Linsday, 26, was so keen to get her career back on track that she accepted a mere $100 a day for her role in the film - which follows "youth, glamour, sex and surveillance.
Lindsay Lohan reportedly refused to kiss Charlie Sheen in Scary Movie 5. The 26-year-old actress had been expected to smooch the Anger Management star three times during their bedroom scene, but wouldn't comply with the request because of her co-star's wild sexual history.
According to gossip website TMZ, it is unknown what Lindsay's specific objections were, but both she and Charlie had had to sign release forms confirming they did not have cold sores. The 26-year-old star has told friends she warned producers ahead of shooting that she didn't want to kiss Charlie, but script changes weren't made until it was time to shoot the scene. A body double was drafted in for some parts, while others were written out entirely.
Grant Bowler found working with Lindsay Lohan an "exercise in patience."
The Australian actor thinks filming Liz & Dick - in which he plays Richard Burton to her Elizabeth Taylor - should have run "smoother and he was frustrated over the time some things took on the TV movie.
"There were exercises in patience and there were exercises in tolerance. I believe it could have been smoother at times, it could have been a lot smoother at times and we could have got a lot more done on a couple of days, but you get what you're given. My focus was whether we could knuckle down and get a film made. We certainly took our time in a lot of ways when I would have preferred to be shooting."
Grant admits the delays to filming left him "mad," but he tried to focus on doing the best job he possibly could. "Well, you know, yeah. But a part of the job is you're off when you're off, you're on when you're on and you're focused. Every single job is an opportunity to get better at my job, I've been doing this for 22 years and all I care about at the end of the day is how well I do my job and how well I serve my audience," he said when asked if he was mad.
Lindsay Lohan refuses to acknowledge bad reviews.
The 26-year-old actress has reportedly banned her family and friends from discussing professional reviews of her new TV movie Liz & Dick in front of her because she is proud of her performance in the film. Friends close to Lindsay insist she "loved playing Elizabeth Taylor and is in love with the final product."
The troubled starlet has told friends she doesn't want to know what the reviews say regardless of whether it is positive of negative because it would "take away from her experience on the project," according to gossip website TMZ.com.
The actress's new Lifetime movie - which will hit screens tomorrow - has been slammed by many critics including The Hollywood Reporter, which called the film "spectacularly bad."
Meanwhile, Lindsay is also starring in a new music video for rockers R.E.M directed by actor James Franco. In a newly released five minute clip, the actress is seen pouting and posing as a muse for celebrity photographer Terry Richardson in the video for the song "Blue" from the band's final album Collapse Into Now.
Perhaps due to the film noir content of the story, the folks behind the Bret Easton Ellis-penned The Canyons released a teaser yesterday in the style of a 1950s trailer.
In the film, Lindsay Lohan stars opposite porn star James Deen, one of the two men the trailer claims she must choose between. The acting in the trailer seems a bit cheesy, but I'm truly hoping that it's just confined to the trailer itself and not the film! Directed by Paul Shrader, the film has a slated 2013 release with no exact date set just yet.

Lindsay Lohan has filmed a sex scene with Charlie Sheen for Scary Movie 5.
The 26-year-old actress suffered a meltdown earlier this week when she refused to film a scene for the comedy movie which allegedly poked fun of her public image, but she has now been on set and been in bed with Charlie. "Charlie and Lindsay filmed a love scene. The scene they were shooting for the movie was of them in bed together," an insider said. The source added that they even "shared some playful pillow talk during shooting," commenting, "They were ad-libbing. They were joking that they've both had a lot of issues over the past couple of years."
Lindsay Lohan "freaked out" and refused to film scenes in Scary Movie 5.
The 26-year-old actress - who has battled drink and drug problems in the past - allegedly tried to avoid a scene ridiculing her troubles, so she missed her flight to the set in Atlanta on Sunday and went to hospital claiming to be suffering from "walking pneumonia."
"Lindsay missed every meeting she had for the film, including script reads and wardrobe meetings. Then she missed her flight to Atlanta on Sunday to shoot the movie. The producers had been getting signs Friday that she was a mess, and would not be fit to work. She is under contract - so to get out of it, she had to prove that she was sick. She tried to prove she has walking pneumonia," an insider told The New York Post.
Lindsay is thought to be particularly concerned about the horror spoof's script - which features a kiss with co-star Charlie Sheen - because of how much it pokes fun at her.
Lindsay Lohan helped porn star James Deen reach new levels of prowess while filming The Canyons.
The 26-year-old actress - who has previously posed nude for Playboy magazine - appears as the adult film star's lover in forthcoming thriller, and James insists the brunette beauty was "super professional" while filming their X-rated scenes in his big screen debut, and he "learned a lot" from her.
"Working with her was awesome. She's super professional; super great. She's a fantastic actress, it was really, really awesome. I feel like I learned a lot from her like in the scenes we did together, they were my stronger scenes."
James appears alongside Milk actor Gus Van Sant and Desperate Housewives beauty Tenille Houston in the movie - which tells the story of a group of youths and their sexual escapades in Los Angeles - and he credits Lindsay for bringing out the "best" in his acting ability. "Working with people who are really strong actors and very talented and stuff brings the best out of you. It was very helpful to me as an amateur," he added.
