Lindsay Lohan Fired, Re-Hired on Gotti Film

Around 1 pm on Wednesday, People announced that Lindsay Lohan would no longer be playing Victoria Gotti in the new flick Gotti: Three Generations. Producer Marc Fiore released a statement saying “She is no longer being considered. The talks have stopped. We are going to meet with other people.” He said they just “couldn’t reach terms.”

But before two hours had passed, TMZ broke the news that she’ll be in the film after all. No, Linds won’t be playing Victoria Gotti. Now, she’ll be playing the role of John Gotti Jr.’s daughter-in-law Kim Albanese, daughter of an alleged associate of the Gambino crime family.

TMZ says that Lindsay agreed to act in Mob Street, a different Fiore-produced film, to seal the deal. Linds looks a lot like Victoria Gotti when her red locks are bleached blonde, but she bears marked little resemblance to brunette Kim. Follow the jump to view a few Gotti family pictures.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Batman Role Revealed

Joseph Gordon-LevittThe cast for the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, is rounding out nicely. The mystery surrounding actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt has finally been cleared up: he’ll be playing Gotham City beat cop John Blake.

Marion Cotillard’s role as Miranda Tate has also been officiliazed by Warner Bros. Tate is a board member for Wayne Enterprises who will assist Bruce Wayne in his philanthropic efforts for the city.

It was previously announced that Anne Hathaway will play Catwoman and Tom Hardy will portray Bane. After The Dark Knight Rises, the entire Batman film franchise will be re-booted with a new cast (and main hero).

Elijah Wood Confirmed for Hobbit Role

Elijah Wood as Frodo BagginsIt has been confirmed that Elijah Wood will appear in The Hobbit.

The 29-year-old actor, who played Frodo Baggins in the Lords of the Rings film franchise, will definitely appear in the forthcoming movie prequel, despite his character not featuring in the original J.R.R. Tolkein novel.

Producers are rumored to have written the film with an opening sequence in which Frodo begins to read about his uncle Bilbo Baggins' adventures.

A statement by Elijah's representatives confirmed his involvement and also revealed that he is set for a busy few months as he will also feature in a TV mini-series of Treasure Island alongside Eddie Izzard. "Wood is confirmed to star in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, to be shot in New Zealand. In addition, he has signed on to play Ben Gunn in Stewart Harcourt's adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island alongside Eddie Izzard. The two part/ four hour miniseries will be airing on Sky TV in the UK," the statement read.

Filming for The Hobbit - which will be split into two parts and also stars Martin Freeman and Cate Blanchett- is due to begin in New Zealand next month.


Sandra Bullock Gets Extremely Loud?

Sandra Bullock winning her Oscar is in negotiations to star in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

The 46-year-old star, who this year won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in , is in talks alongside Tom Hanks to star in the project, an adaptation of the 2005 dramatic novel by Jonathan Safran Foer.

If Bullock signs on to star in the movie, it will be her first film since her Academy Award-winning performance. The film tells the tale of an intelligent nine year old - who has yet to be cast in the Stephen Daldry-directed project - who begins searching for a lock to match a key given to him by his father prior to his death in the New York terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Bullock and Hanks would play the child’s parents in the movie, which if locked would see them filming in January 2011. Screenwriter Eric Roth has adapted the book, which being lined up to produce.


Kevin Bacon Recruited to X-Men

The Footloose star is reportedly in negotiations with studio Twentieth Century Fox to play the chief villain in the forthcoming prequel, though no details about the exact nature of the character have been disclosed.

Kevin, who has an 18-year-old daughter Sosie and a 20-year-old son Travis with his actress wife , is the latest star to be linked to the project. The Matthew Vaughn-directed movie will follow the early friendship of Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr as they struggle with their mutant abilities and set up a school for gifted youngsters.

British actor James McAvoy has signed up to play Professor Charles Xavier - the role played by Sir Patrick Stewart in the first three movies - while 33-year-old actor Michael Fassbender will portray Erik Lensherr, otherwise known as Magneto and originally played by Sir Ian McKellen. The movie will also feature actors Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), Alice Eve (Emma Frost) and Lucas Till (Havoc).The film is expected to begin shooting next month.


Anthony Hopkins Set for Arabian Nights

Anthony HopkinsSir is set to play a villainous sorcerer in Chuck Russell’s Arabian Nights.

The screen legend is apparently in the final stages of negotiations to portray sorcerer Pharotu in the upcoming period epic, which follows a young commander who teams up with Sinbad, Ali Baba and a Genie when his king is murdered. is due to play the young leader as the group battle to rescue his queen, Scheherazade.

However, the movie will see Anthony’s evil alter-ego kill Sinbad’s mermaid lover and search for more magic and power of his own. Shooting on the movie is expected to start at the end of the summer. Production will be overseen by Bill Johnson from Inferno and Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray from Mayhem Pictures. The storyline has been penned by director Chuck and Barry P. Ambrose.

It will be the second action thriller for 72-year-old Anthony, who next year will be seen in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor - which is based on the comic book series.


Zac Efron to Take on Coke Dealer Role

Zac EfronClean-cut heartthrob is set to play a scheming cocaine smuggler in a new thriller.

The actor - who rose to fame in the popular films - is set play a runner for a coke dealer in new movie Snabba Cash - translated Easy Money - an American remake of a Swedish film based on the 2006 novel by Jens Lapidus. The project, which focuses on a group of friends who want to get rich quick by getting involved with drugs and organized crime, has recently been the subject of a Hollywood bidding war.

eventually bought the remake rights - for what is thought to be a six-figure sum - with the intention of casting Zac. The studio is allowing the 22-year-old actor to produce the film with the new company he runs with his manager Jason Barrett, according to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Heat Vision Blog.

Swedish producer Fredrik Wikstrom will also work on the US version, with Michael Hjorth acting as executive producer. The thriller is the latest example of the young actor breaking away from the teen roles which made him a star.
His recent back catalogue of work includes drama and comedy 17 Again.
