Disney Re-Releasing Lion King in 3D

Will baby animated lions look even more precious in 3D? Disney thinks so. The mega-corporation announced at the beginning of the year that new 3D Blu-rays of their biggest hits (Beauty and the Beast, The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Lion King) would be released. Now, they’ve upped the ante: they’re brining at least one animated favorite back to the theaters, too.
First up, The Lion King (so dig out your old “hakuna matata” T-shirt). It’ll come back to theaters, in full 3D, in September. If it makes any money at all, you can expect that Disney will trot out the entire vault.

Warner Bros. now has plans to re-release Christopher Nolan’s record-breaking Batman sequel this January.
While I initially heard the news of The Dark Knight‘s re-release plan, I was excited to see that it may have a second chance to break Titanic‘s record; however, I was met with disappointment to discover that their motives linked to more materialistic goal named Oscar.
January is the prime voting season for the Academy Awards, and those determined folks at Warner Bros. don’t want anyone over there to forget about that impressive summer blockbuster of theirs.

‘Toy Story’ Goes 3-D
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: DreamWorks, Disney, Animation, Family, Technology, Upcoming Releases,
Not wanting to be outdone by some real-life green ogre, the Pixar characters of Toy Story will soon be stepping up their game. Musicals, schmusicals. They’re going 3-D.
Fourteen years after they were first introduced, a reinvigorated Woody and Buzz Lightyear will return for fans old and new. A revamped version of their Oscar-nominated gem will hit theaters Oct. 2009 followed by a retooled Toy Story 2 a few months later. (This will allow those who were 10 years old back in 1995 to now bring their own children with them.)
These releases will not only create buzz for the June 2010 premiere of Toy Story 3, it will give Disney a jump-start on another 3-D film set for that same year: Shrek Goes Fourth.
